Realizing how many people inhabit the world today its not hard to believe that there are literally thousands of religions out there. Making a choice as to what religion you fit into can be a daunting task. Even if you already practice a set religion sometimes its hard to know if you are putting your faith in the right hands so to speak. People get into a religion and they think that their beliefs are right and everyone elses are wrong or twisted. Also people want the religion they are practicing to be the preferred religion of the country or of the world. All around this building are other buildings almost as tall as the center one if it werent for the tower sitting on top of it. The other buildings all seem to be apartment buildings squeezed quit e close together, giving the impression that this is a rather large city. You can see the top of a street light from the point where it starts to bend in the lower right corner. All around this picture there are people floating in the air around the city block. Most of them are floating in the sky above the buildings but some are at the level of the building roofs and even lower. There are some people all the way down at the bottom of the picture around the height of the streetlight. A few of the people in the picture are looking toward the sky as if to ask a question but most of them are going about their daily business. There is a wide variety of people depicted in the picture. Most of the people are businessmen and women that are dressed in suits, some are holding umbrellas and some are not, others are talking on a cell phone or reading a paper. Dispersed among these businessmen there are some construction personnel wearing hardhats, a teenager on a skateboard, a few students holding books or a backpack, a few characters that could be described as punks, and a women holding a baby. King Lear: The Element of Disguise The play King Lear is, first of all, a play about kingship; about a trustful old king, every inch a king, who in old age brings destruction to himself, and to certain persons in his own circle, and to his country. Even though he was exiled from the kingdom, he has returned to protect Lear. His great loyality to the king, forces Kent to risk his life in order to decieve Lear. Lear : What art thou? Kent : A very honest-hearted fellow, and as poor as the king. (I, IV, 18-20) A disguise normally is associated with covering up, leaving a very superficial character, but in the case with Kent, it is not so. Kent is still as loyal as he ever was, and it is clear from this scene that he will fight for Lear until his death. The element of disguise, was used extensively within the first two scenes. European free trade zone - Essay Example The seven member countries of EFTA including Austria, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland were not willing to be the part of the European Economic Community at that time. Finland, Iceland, and Liechtenstein joined EFTA later. Under the EFTA treaty, the member countries made a partnership in order to form and manage a free trade zone, and they initially established such a region among themselves; the free trade area then eventually broadened to include the European Community. By the formation of a European free trade zone, the member countries aimed â€Å"increased productivity, a more efficient use of resources, the expansion of economic activity and full employment as well as promoting financial stability and improving living standards† (â€Å"European free trade area†). Gradually, some countries left the EFTA and presently the EFTA comprises Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. In 1992, EFTA made agreements with EEA (Euro pean Economic Area) to aid its members to join the European internal market freely. These agreements contained specific provision regarding the preservation of social policy, consumer rights, environment, and company law and statistics. In addition, the agreement also included various provisions for the mutual cooperation of EEA-EFTA Member States in various areas such as researches and development, information technology, education, industrial operations, tourism, multimedia sector and civil protection (â€Å"European free trade area†). As Ranchev and Georgi point out, in Southeast Europe, seven countries including Albania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Macedonia, and FR Yugoslavia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 27th June 2001 for the establishment of a free trade zone in that area (1-13). CEFTA has spread its operations to Southern Europe by adding members from Western Balkans and Moldova regions.
